Traversal (prototype)
A downloadable game for Windows
Thanks for 18 downloads! I've added another level to the prototype. If I hit 100 downloads, I'll add the next level. I'd really love some feedback/criticism, too.
Traversal is a family-friendly, easy-to-medium difficulty puzzle game that challenges you to reveal the entire map by venturing across different tile types, each with its own movement cost. Your goal is to uncover 100% of the map using the fewest moves possible, so strategic movement is key.
This prototype includes a short tutorial level and the first full level. It is hard to gauge time-to-complete. I'd say for the tutorial anywhere between 5 to 10 minutes. Fir the first level maybe around 15-25 min. , but it will vary. Levels are hand-crafted levels (300–500 tiles) are roughly three times bigger, challenging your puzzle-solving and memory skills—I have four of those ready and plan to release more once I gather feedback.

All core mechanics are in place, including:
-Exploration & Bonuses: Discover ruins for temporary or permanent boosts.
-Movement Costs: Each terrain type has a unique traversal cost.
- Strategic Exhaustion: Running out of energy warps you back to base (which can be used to your advantage).
-Controls: Move with either the numpad keys (1–9) or by left-clicking adjacent tiles.
I’d love to hear what you think—your feedback will help shape future levels and improvements. You can find a file tree in the zipped folder, so you’ll know exactly what to expect upon downloading and unzipping.
Thanks for giving Traversal a look, and have fun exploring!
